- With 40 hectares of vines Château Figeac is the biggest family estate in Saint-Emilion. and the prestige of its wines is attributable to its unique terroir, composed of three gravel mounds which justify the atypical selection of grape varieties, in equal parts Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon.
On his arrival here in 1943, Thierry Manoncourt recognised the immense potential of this terroir. And it is to him that we owe the famous Figeac style of elegance, balance and huge ageing potential that has seen it figure amongst the Premier Grands Crus Classés since 1954.
Since 2013 the estate director, Frédéric Faye, has worked in a spirit of continuity, just as has Michel Rolland who acted as consultant for the property for the first time in 2014.
