Parents and children, the Mitjavile family all sing from the same hymn sheet when it comes to their vineyards and their wines : it is this unity that is their most astonishing attribute. They convey their vision with passion, but in simple language that is comprehensible to everyone : listening to them, everything becomes clear. They take your hand, lead you into their world and show you around.
It is true that they only understand clay-limestone soils. They discuss the personality of the vintage, the elegant aromas of the wines, their aristocratic tannins and flavours and the length of time you must wait to drink a wine that has undergone maceration. Wine is an artisanal creation: to enter the cellar and find in the glass everything that was discussed while you were admiring the amphitheatre of Tertre vines is truly a delight. No matter the so-called personality of the vintage, the miracle occurs afresh every year. That is how you know that this is a family of great winemakers.
