Le Petit Cheval 2018 acts
as a gentle build-up to Cheval Blanc. "The colour is ruby red, reflecting the
wine's youth," says Pierre-Olivier Clouet, Technical Director of Cheval Blanc and
Quinault l'Enclos. "There' a lovely intensity on the nose, with balsamic notes
as well as hints of cocoa, caramel and vanilla pod, blended with fruity aromas,
particularly cherry and strawberry. There's a liquorice fragrance that gives
the wine its freshness as well as beautifully expressive notes of light
tobacco. In the mouth the wine is full and silky, with delicate yet rounded tannins
that don't disappear on the mid-palate. The finish is redolent of very ripe red
fruit. In total, this is an unctuous wine that is certain to give great
pleasure."
