The history of Talbot can be summed up in one word: continuity. This year, Gustave Bignon has taken his place at his father's side, acting as ambassador for the century-old family enterprise. His personality is an ideal fit for the property and its wines; like them, he is courteous, refined and faithful to the family spirit: an ideal vector of continuity, in the Talbot style. A year ago, Gustave also took a personal stake in the world of wine, creating Maison Corbie: his very own object of desire. This label gives him the opportunity to share, in a light-hearted manner, the wine styles he likes best. At Sénéjac, in addition to the attention paid to ensure the consistent quality of the wines, various wine tourism projects are underway.
This is Jean-Michel Laporte's second vintage: he has found his feet, and this year the vintage was all his own work. He is smiling when we meet: "Summer was hot, but in the end the alternating sun and rain brought the grapes to a perfect level of maturity. The Cabernet Sauvignons are extraordinary and, while this is a less glamorous vintage than one like 2018, it is more obviously a Bordeaux vintage... in other words, just what we love to drink".
